SSO Belgaum Hospital × Cancer Charity Trust

CCT is partnering with SSO Belgaum Hospital to expand access to affordable, high-quality cancer care for patients across North Karnataka.

The Challenge

Belagavi sits at the intersection of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa, making it a referral centre for over 12–15 lakh people. Belagavi accounts for 7–10% of cancer cases in Karnataka — second only to Bengaluru — yet there is very limited education around cancer and access to screening. There is no comprehensive cancer centre in the region, resulting in significant outflow to larger cities: the entire North Karnataka region has only 3–4 functional cancer treatment facilities, while Bengaluru alone holds more than half of Karnataka's 40+ AERB-approved radiotherapy centres.
