33-year-old Awdhesh discontinued his cancer treatment 8 years back because his family could not afford it anymore in spite of selling their land and all the help from friends & relatives. Imagine the plight of parents of a then 25-year-old son, giving up- that we can't treat his cancer anymore.

Awdhesh, in 2007, got diagnosed and treated with surgery for hydrolyzing. But since it reoccurred, doctors suggested further investigation. It needed 6 CT scans (costing Rs.50,000) to conclude that it was cancer of the testis. Shockingly, his family’s monthly income is Rs.2500 even in today's times. What all can you afford and how much can you save in a family of 4 even if you get your food from farming with that sort of income?

Lifetime savings, money from selling their land and loans from friends and relatives got consumed in the chemotherapy that followed. Lack of funds forced them to stop the treatment but Awdhesh still survived for the last 8 years. But now the investigations reveal NSGCT (Non-Seminoma Germ Cell Tumor) and it needs immediate surgery. This youngster deserves treatment.

Let’s all get together to revive Awdhesh’s health.
