Sharad Hotkar - CT/21920, a 45 year-old man, has been battling disability and unemployment for the past four years. Apart from being the sole breadwinner for his family, Sharad is supporting his two sons in pursuing a further education. From what started as a mere cough in March of 2020, Sharad was unable to see his primary care physician due to the nationwide lockdown. After a few months of continuously coughing, Sharad was able to undergo investigation at a local government hospital. Upon investigation, Sharad was diagnosed with Large B Cell DCBL. Due to financial constraints, Sharad was advised to travel from his hometown to the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment. Upon arrival, Sharad’s estimated cost for treatment was Rs. 3,50,000. Having arranged Rs.15,000 for the intensive phase of his treatment through family friends, relatives and personal savings, Sharad and his family have exhausted all of their funds. Upon treatment completion, Sharad wishes to return home to watch his children grow up and support both of his children in pursuing their education.
