Aditya Jawale, a 19-year-old computer engineering student, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia earlier this year. In May of 2020, Aditya was taken to a local municipal hospital for a checkup after having a sudden high-grade fever. After Aditya’s blood tests revealed a low hemoglobin and platelet count, he was advised to go to the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai for further management. Upon arrival at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Aditya was diagnosed with AML and immediately began to receive treatment. With a monthly family income of only Rs. 6,000, the Jawale family are barely able to afford their basic expenses. To pay for the intensive phase of his treatment, Aditya and his family broke their fixed deposit and borrowed money from family friends and relatives. Having spent Rs. 1,50,000, Aditya and his family have exhausted all of their funds. To complete his treatment, Aditya needs Rs. 6,00,000. Upon completion, Aditya wishes to complete his education and become a pillar of support for his family members.
